Complementary Therapies

Complementary Therapies are those alternative and natural treatments which are used by patients in addition to whatever treatment they receive from their MD doctors.  Examples of this type of treatment abound, and encompass a broad range of therapies, from nutritional supplements and herbal remedies, to movement therapies such as yoga and silat, and from energy and spiritual healing methods to biofeedback and light and aromatherapy.

Complementary treatment is generally distinguished from Alternative treatment, in that the latter is often used as a replacement for Western medicine and allopathic methods.
