Complementary & Alternative Medicine at Yale University

Yale University recently established a center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, to be integrated with the Yale School of Medicine, as well as other national and international CAM initiatives. Integrative Medicine at Yale serves as “a sustainable, central forum at Yale for interdisciplinary, inter-institutional, and international collaboration, research, and education in complementary, alternative, and integrative medicine.” As part of IM activities at Yale, the Yale Continuing Medical Education program will host a conference on April 2, 2008, on Complementary and Alternative Medicine: Evidence for Integration.

The success of this conference will provide a springboard for expansion of the endeavor into The Yale Center for Integrative Medicine, a university-wide Center that will be nationally recognized as a leader in generating rigorous scientific research, innovations in interdisciplinary collaboration, and breakthroughs in generating wellness and well being among both healthcare providers and patients.
